Intelligence and investigations

Dealing successfully with protest groups
A European mining operation experienced violent outbursts from protestors at one of its critical mining sites, resulting in major interruptions to normal operations. As part of an undercover operation, BGN Risk personnel made contact with the protestors, gaining their trust and effectively penetrating their decision-making processes. This intelligence re-defined the mining company’s security policies and permitted them to re-open the mine. They also established a ‘hearts and minds’ programme to reduce tensions and improve relations with the local population.

Operating in a war zone to track down criminals
An international consortium was experiencing the effects of intellectual property crime and contracted us to help avert its impact. Our personnel then infiltrated an active war zone to chase leads and define the criminals’ true level of sophistication; our people also located the factories and shipping routes involved in the crime and obtained samples of the counterfeited products. We then linked the proceeds of these crimes to an insurgent organisation of interest to government authorities.
